School Health

Big Sandy Health Care is pleased to offer the Healthy @ School Program which combines a traditional school nursing program with access to advanced practice registered nurses, behavioral health therapists and dental services to keep your student healthy. 

On-site services include acute care visits, follow-up visits, well child checks, physicals and immunizations. Virtual behavioral health visits and on-site dental services are offered in select school districts. 

Visits and immunizations are provided by our licensed health care providers during school hours at the child’s school. Parents/guardians are not required to be present for the service, however, they are welcome to attend if they choose. Our school nurses will also facilitate parent/guardian participation in their student’s virtual visit if desired. Our services are provided only to students with parent/guardian consent.

Services are provided for children at no cost; however, insurance will be billed. If your child does not have health insurance, please contact us and our staff will assist you.  If you receive a bill from Big Sandy Health Care, Inc. for services provided to your child in the school setting, please contact us at (606) 263-6191 .
